Message from the Head of School
Thank you for your interest in British Columbia International School Bangkok! Serving as Head of School, my name is Hadden Allen and I’m originally from Toronto, Canada. I’ve had a deep passion for education throughout my career, and I’ve spent over 14 years working as both a Teacher and Administrator. As a lifelong learner, I’ve earned a B.Ed in Elementary Education from Niagara University (USA), an MBA from the University of Toronto (Canada), and an M.Ed in Educational Leadership from Framingham State University (USA).
I’ve been fortunate to teach various grade levels and subjects, along with taking on administrative roles in five different countries: Canada, the USA, the United Arab Emirates, Costa Rica, and now Thailand! I’ve worked with diverse academic programs, including the American Common Core, International Baccalaureate (IB), and the British National Curriculum.
I would like to warmly invite you to explore our top-tier facilities as you navigate our website. Over the summer, BCISB has undergone exciting renovations, including the expansion of our programming and the addition of a new building to support our Early Learning Center. These world-class facilities have been designed to enhance the educational experience of all our students.
We are also thrilled to announce that BCISB has officially become a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) in both the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP). This allows us to integrate the world-renowned British Columbia (BC) curriculum within the IB framework for students from K1 through Grade 9. This comprehensive approach ensures that our students are well-prepared for the BC Graduation Program in Grades 10-12.
At BCISB, we remain dedicated to nurturing confident, well-rounded individuals, guiding them through their academic journey while fostering their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. Our pursuit of excellence is deeply rooted in our school’s history, and we continuously evolve to meet the growing needs of our students and community.
Parental involvement is key to student success, and we consider parents as essential partners in their child’s educational journey. We encourage open communication and collaboration, whether through meetings or ongoing dialogue with our teaching staff.
It has been a privilege serving BCISB over the past years, and I am excited for what lies ahead as we embark on this new journey towards becoming an IB World School. Welcome to the 2024-2025 academic year!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Hadden Alle
